PREOPERATIVE TESTING

BOSTON OUT-PATIENT SURGICAL SUITES

You will generally be required to get an up to date History and Physical from your Primary Physician within 30 days of your surgery date.

You will receive a phone call from the staff at Boston Out-Patient Suites ahead of surgery to go through a checklist for your safety.

NEW ENGLAND BAPTIST HOSPITAL

For most procedures, you will be required to be seen at the Preoperative Screening Unit (PASU) at the New England Baptist Hospital. This visit needs to happen in the 30 days prior to surgery, and will often be about two weeks ahead of your surgery date.

Please allow 2-3 hours for this visit. The date for this visit will be given to you around the time that we schedule your surgery date

We will generally try to ensure that any specialist 'clearance' needed from your other providers, such as cardiologists and diabetologists, is obtained ahead of that visit.

We generally arrange for you to be seen in our offices on the same day for any final paperwork to be completed in person ahead of surgery.
